What would you consider your signature style?
I really thrive on free-hand piercing. I love tailoring my work to the exacting needs of my clients. I like interacting with people, understanding what they’re looking to achieve – both short and longer term – with their piercings and offering guidance and advice, ahead of giving them that perfect piercing. I like ear piercing project work; meeting up with returning customers, as their projects progress, and discussing how they’d like to further embellish their piercings.
Tell us about your experience and influences:
Back in 2007, I started my piercing apprenticeship at Absolution, in New Zealand. In 2010, I decided to make the leap back to the UK, where I then opened Factotum. Since opening the studio, I’ve been influenced by every piercing, scarification and suspension artist that I’ve ever met. I couldn’t be more thankful for the tips, pointers and guidance I’ve received over the years, but the education is never finished. I’ll never stop growing and learning as an artist.
